What a Weekend

There is a lot of positive energy in town right now and we will see an explosion this weekend.

Don’t leave for Lubbock. You won’t find a better place to be than little ole Snyder, Texas.

Bikers, art exhibits, live music, chili cook-off, distance running, parades, plays, food booths, vendors, etc.

A lot of fun to be had by area citizens and dollars pouring into Snyder.

The incredible thing about all this is the number of people working together to make it happen.

I can’t remember a happening where more different groups cooperated.

This includes not only private citizens but government entities, the newspaper, the coliseum staff, etc.

This shows what Snyder is capable of.

One element in attracting businesses is to make our town a “neat” place to live.

The White Buffalo events are what it’s all about.

I agree that having such events in Snyder will make it a more desirable place for people to come visit & even possibley move here. However, I am concered with several things on how this weekend is gonig to play out. One of my first concerns is our wonderful law enforcement....I know you know what I am talking about. Are they gonna relax a bit or are they going to be all over the tourists & residents about every nit-picking thing they can find? If our law enforcement is going to be all up in the "tourists" a$$ that will definately run people off for next year. Another concern I have is the price to get in to all of the festivities. For ONE person to attend the bike rally both nights & the rodeo it is going to cost 57$. Now if you multiply that times how ever family members or friends you wanna bring & that is not including the price of food, beverages & souvineers. That is a pretty large chunk of change. I could understand 10-15$ a day, but I have spoke with many people who are not going because of the price. One other thing that concerns me & it ties in to the concerns I have alread mentioned, is Why would you schedule the Bike Rodeo at the same time of the concert? Also Why have the bike rodeo all the way out at the rodeo grounds...that is just throwing the tourist, who have been hanging out all day possibly drinking, to Snyder's lovely law enforcement to catch them between locations. Not only that...but lets see, another thought that will be crossing peoples minds about this time is gonna be...should I stay here & watch the concert or should I go & pay more $ to watch the rodeo?

I am all for bringing people to Snyder...I think that the planning, pricing & the lovely Snyder law enforcement will bring this one down & it will be a flop.
I hope I am wrong....Good Luck!

Hats off to the City of Snyder and to all those who organized the White Buffalo Bikefest! We have participated and WORKED different rallies, both large and small. I hope you consider this rally as much a success as we did.I have never seen a first-time rally come off as smoothly as this one.The first is always a learning experience, but many things were done very right. The courteous and friendly staff, security, police, and all the other workers, made the weekend a truly enjoyable experience. Looking forward to next year and are already making to be there next year.
Snyder, thank you for a great weekend.

A great weekend for Snyder. So many people worked together to make the biker rally and the White Buffalo Days work.
Way to go Snyder.
Let's keep it up.

I am glad that I was wrong & that it all went so well! I was out at the ralley all weekend & had a fantastic time! I didn't hear one negative thing about the weekend at all! Hats off to all the people who had any kind of part in it!

WASN'T THERE. DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT IT, BUT I DO HAVE TO SAY SOMETHING CONCERNING THE COMMENT ABOUT FINDING THE POSITIVE OR PUT A LID ON IT. WHETHER YOU LIKE SOMEONES OPINION OR NOT, THEY STILL HAVE THE RIGHT TO EXPRESS IT, WE STILL LIVE IN AMERICA.

The price of admission is just too expernisve for the average working family. Why exactly did the planners of this event decide to exclude the great majority of the community from the festivities? The price is more important to these people that the actual potential of the festival if it were affordable for the local citizenry. Make it affordable and accessable. I visited Snyder to mix with the locals, not random tourists. Make it the working man's weekend get-away and it's a sure success. -disappointed tourist
